Jesus’ Love

We’re excited to share our first new AFReG devotional called “Jesus’ Love.” As we do, we can’t help but recall our AFReG 5 Conference in Jamaica, where our AFReG community from the continent and Diaspora gathered. In Jamaica, we heard about God using AFReG to carry out His transforming work, with amazing impacts across diverse spheres of societal influence, from Christ-centered national prayer efforts to political renewal and leadership development around the globe! What a perfect illustration of Jesus’ love…God’s divine sovereign grace enacted through the person of His Son Jesus, and those disciples, like those found in AFReG, committed to that love finding expression, “…on earth as it is in heaven.” (Matthew 6:10, KJV)

It shouldn’t surprise us that Jesus’ love is an expansive, inclusive demonstration of God’s heart. This expansive and inclusive love is definitively declared in Scripture:

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16, NKJV)

Jesus’ love for us as Savior and Lord is neither narrow in its divine scope nor exclusive in its salvation opportunity. Jesus’ love for us is as expansive as the Father’s heart for all the souls of this “world” to know Him and as inclusive as “whoever” would receive His Son in their heart.

As a Christ-empowered community, AFReG prays that our efforts in the many diverse, society-impacting spheres to which we are called will always reflect a love that impacts the world and touches every soul, wherever we find them.

Each one of you plays a huge role in impacting those around you.

May that be our testimony as we live out Jesus’ love in the Christ-filled seasons ahead, for our good, but especially for His glory!

AFReG’s New Devotional Series

https://youtube.com/shorts/wFqssuBNqO0?feature=share What a glorious thought! This is not a prophetic declaration born of hypothetical imagination, but one anchored in the immutable Word of God. Scripture assures us that the Lord watches over His Word to accomplish it, and that “no word from God will ever fail” (Luke 1:37). And isn’t this very much in rhythm with

NEHEMIAH’S ACCOMPLISHMENT OF HIS ASSIGNMENT

Introduction Nehemiah was in exile in Persia. When some people returned to Persia from a recent visit to Jerusalem, Nehemiah asked them about the state of the city and the remnants of Jews who had escaped going into exile. That is a good example of patriotism. When we read the story of Nehemiah and their

Nehemiah’s Prayer Life

Nehemiah 1:4-11 Introduction I once came across a sad statistic that the average prayer life of most pastors is five minutes a day. In the thirteen chapters of his book, prayer is mentioned fourteen times indicating the importance of prayer in Nehemiah’s life. To accomplish any significant work for God, we too must model our

Nehemiah’s Character

It is popularly known that three things form the pillars of leadership: calling, competence, and character. In Nehemiah’s case, it is clear he had a divine calling. This is evident in his immediate and urgent response to his brother Hanani’s troubling news about the shameful state of Jerusalem and the returned exiles. That call motivated
